If you’re a medical provider, you can refer patients to our family resource navigators. We’ll follow up with them, offering information and resources.

When should I refer a family to the SEAS Program?

Medical providers can refer any family to SEAS for support around connecting with intervention programs, therapy services, school programs, mental and behavioral healthcare, and basic needs. Our family resources navigators are experts in local programs and services, and will assist families in getting the support they want and need.

Family Resource Navigators can support your patients and families by:

  • Facilitating referrals for the following programs:

    • Whatcom County’s early intervention programs-Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT), for children ages 0-3

    • Clinical speech, occupational, and physical therapies

    • GIDES process, including referrals for autism evaluations

  • Providing guidance for getting Individualized Education Program (IEP) evaluations with their local school district

  • Assisting families in finding options for mental and behavioral healthcare

  • Supporting families in finding other supportive resources, such as social connection groups and guidance towards basic needs supports
